29th FebruaryBeats By ChrisMomentum EpVivid Programming MusicChris HickmanThis was my first musical project. I started it around the summer of 2004 and through many stages wrapped it up around 2006. Created originally on FL Studio but migrating to the MPC2000XL and many cheap keyboards…I didn’t have the best gear but I did the best with what I had and thats all the matters. 10th FebruaryFender FSR Jazz BassI just started playing the bass guitar and took the advice of a guitar salesman at Guitar Center and he persuaded me to get the Squire Classic Vibe 50’s Precision Bass. because of the weight, beauty in the color of the body..but I felt like the bass had too much of a one dimensional tone as well as the thick neck that felt like i was holding a bat. Went to Guitar Center with my eyes fixed on getting another bass in the Squire Classic Vibe series, The 60’s Jazz Bass…well when i got there i saw it and was about to do the exchange when I glanced at the Fender FSR Jazz Bass with its beautiful natural ash body. I bought it instantly. I feel I got an incredible value..and an instrument that I can look forward to playing for many years.

9th NovemberHeavy D was one of the first rappers that introduced me to Hip-Hop. I remember when my uncle Will used to bump his Big Tyme tape in his Oldsmobile ride when we would stay with him as little kids. I was instantly a fan. He personified style, class and flair when it came to the art of emceeing. Dwight Arrington Myers you will forever be one of the greatest to ever do it in not only hip-hop but music in general…R.I.P.

"I wouldn’t say look for mistakes but when I hear mistakes in records it was exciting for me. Like, “Damn, the drummer missed the beat in that shit. The guitar went off key for a second.” I try to do that in my music a little bit, try to have that live feel a little bit to it." 6th SeptemberSource: James “Jay Dee” Yancey+7 notesJay DeeQuotes -
